Paper sign in sheets, QR check ins, and end of week timesheets all depend on someone remembering to do something. On a busy site, they do not.
Attendance should be a record that keeps itself, not a chore crews have to remember. CrewPresence records arrivals and departures automatically, so the live headcount and the history behind it are simply there.
Nobody checks in and nothing is forgotten. Phones and beacons both feed the same live dashboard, so every site shows people and gear in one view.
Native apps for iPhone and Android pair to any phone, company issued or an employee’s own. The app detects site arrival and departure by geofence in the background, queues events if signal drops, and syncs the moment it is back online.
Crews who cannot or should not carry a phone wear a small Bluetooth tag on a hard hat, lanyard, or vest. A gateway at the site hears it on arrival, and the wearer appears on the dashboard exactly like someone with the app.
Admins and site managers see who and what is on each site right now, updated the moment someone arrives or leaves, with the full timestamped history, and temperature and humidity where sensors are fitted.
Attendance is the core, but crews only ever install one app: rosters, jobs, chat, and alerts live in the same place, so the office stops juggling four tools.
Publish rosters, post open shifts to a job board, and approve swaps and leave from one place. Roster crews onto a job, then track its tasks: anyone on the crew can tick them off from the app with notes and photos.
Site channels, direct messages, attachments, and voice calls in the app crews already have. Push an alert to everyone on a site in seconds and see who has acknowledged it.
An asset register for plant, vehicles, and tools with assignments, service logs, and rego and insurance reminders. Stick a beacon on a generator or a ute and the site shows whether it is there. Sensors log temperature and humidity and alert when a room drifts out of range.
Every arrival and departure is timestamped and searchable. Export attendance for payroll, compliance, and client billing, and run starting and leaving checklists per site from each employee’s profile.

What to include in your brief
Crews accept attendance tracking when it is honest about what it sees. CrewPresence is built so there is nothing to see outside a nominated site.
The phone checks its position against each site’s boundary and records arrivals and departures. The path in between, on site or off, is never captured. On a commute, at home, or on a break, there is nothing to report.
A beacon has no GPS and no network of its own. It is only heard by a gateway at one of your sites, and away from site it is silent.
“Unpair this phone” is one tap away on the device itself, and tracking stops the moment it happens.
The difference shows up on the worst day of the project, and again every Friday at payroll.
Hardware is optional and one off. Gateways are reusable: when a project finishes, unplug it and move it to the next site.
Bluetooth Helmet Tag

Curved to sit on a hard hat. Bluetooth 5.0, IP66, about three years of battery, and just 6.7 g. The same tag works as an asset tag on plant, tools, and vehicles.

Listens for beacons and sensors and relays them over 4G LTE, so it works on a bare site with no Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Fails over from Ethernet to Wi-Fi to LTE, and is powered by 12 V DC or PoE.

Yes. There are native apps for both iPhone and Android, and a phone can be company issued or an employee’s own. Both apps do the same thing: geofence detection in the background, plus roster, chat, and alerts.
No. CrewPresence pairs to any iPhone or Android phone. For crews who should not or cannot carry a phone, a helmet tag does the job instead.
No. The app only compares a phone’s position against the boundary of a nominated site. Outside that boundary, on a commute, at home, or on a break, it has nothing to report. Beacons have no location of their own and are only heard by gateways at your sites.
Nothing is lost. Presence events queue on the device and sync automatically when it is back online, with the app retrying in the background every 15 minutes.
Only where you use helmet tags, asset tags, or sensors. Phones work on their own. Where you do use beacons, one LTE Gateway covers an active site over 4G, a BLE Signal Repeater extends it to extra levels, and the solar powered Outdoor Gateway covers yards and vehicles.
